Thank you to all the patients and citizens that attended the public hearing on HB 10-1284.  I hope that the judicial committee will amend and restructure the bill to truly help the patients.

It was hard to listen to the repeated and uniform testimonies by law enforcement officers, and Geoff Blue (who represented Colorado’s Attorney General John Suthers) as they spouted antiquated reefer madness propaganda, and ignored the solid scientific prove that cannabis is a medicine.

The federal government recognizes cannabis as having medicinal value, and holds the patent on the cannabinoids in the marijuana plan, as antioxidants and neuroprotectants.  Read more click here.

As those opposing medical cannabis robotically delivered their testimonies, it makes one wonder why they are opposed to having a regulated system in place?

The most recent draft of HB 1284 version (002) is not available to read on the Colorado Legislature website, but you can download it from Warren Edson’s website.

It is not over…as HB 1284 version (002) is currently drafted it needs some major restructuring, but we hope that the patients of Colorado will be heard in that process.
